Sports form an integral part in the physical development of the child. On 14th December, 2010, the Pre-Primary Section witnessed its Annual Sports Day which was full of enthusiasm and many physical activities. The day began with the school band welcoming the Guest of honour with a welcome song. Our Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Madhura Phadke declared the meet open; this was followed by an encouraging song for our budding athletes. The colourful displays by the little ones were mind blowing. The Nursery section focused on activities related to motor development. The Jr. KG displayed various shapes accompanied by the Sr. KG who formed a Joker face in their display. There were exciting events which kept the students entertained throughout. It was certainly a day where the children participated with great joy and enthusiasm.

Annual Sports Day was the event of the year that not only reinforced the values of sportsmanship but also exposed our children to a new sport called Rhythmic Gymnastics. Our Chief Guest, Ms. Varsha Upadhyay - Coach and her team comprising of Kshipra Joshi, Pooja Surve, Akshata Shetye & Sadischa Kulkarni were Rhythmic Gymnasts who represented our country in the Common Wealth Games 2010. It was inspiring to have them amidst us. This year our sports teachers successfully decided to replace the conventional drill displays with formation displays which not only was mesmerizing but also carried a message. It was a pleasure to see the proud faces of the students of Grades 3 & 4 as they competed with their seniors and bagged the Trophy for the Best Display.

'Life is often compared to a game that everyone is playing to win. Win some. Lose some. But never give up.....' On this positive note, began the Annual sports day of PPS on 22nd day of December, 2010.
The fruits of the year's hard work culminated in a spectacular performance, exhibiting sportsmanship, competition, and team-work which were witnessed by all the spectators. The programme began with welcoming the guests of honour :Mr. S. Ahluwalia, Mr. Gaurav Natekar, and the Principals of various ICSE schools. The sports song 'Hurray, Hurray, we are the champs.....' composed by Mr. Uday Patil of the P.E department and sung by students of grade 5 and 6 added grace to the occasion. The solemn Oath taking ceremony motivated the students to strictly adhere to the rules. The School Band and the March past added to the spirit of the ceremony. We saw in all the fives houses, Prithvi, Jal, Agni, Vayu and Akash , the promising youth of tomorrow...., marching with zeal and enthusiasm.
The most awaited events began with various races 50m, 100m, 200m..The 4 x 100 relay made even the spectators jump out of their seats, as they cheered loudly...The various displays like Awaz ek saaz anek, Taekwondo,Yoga and Rhythmic body movements presented by students from grade 3 to grade 9 were par excellence .Even the culture of the ancient world was brought alive through various sports events. The synchronization and creativity was indeed remarkable. Any Sports day would be incomplete without the Tug of War..'Life itself is a tug of war isn't it?'...here the House spirit and the motto of the school "Together we can make a difference" was quite evident. What a sight it was to see the House Masters cheering and motivating their houses! The speeches given by Mr. Natekar and Mr. Ahluwalia were indeed thought provoking and encouraging. Our guest of honour, Mr. Ahluwalia, congratulated the PPS family for the meticulous planning and execution of the events. Each and every child was appreciated, as we believe that "A child is the creation of the Almighty" and should be treated with great respect. Remember, "Sports does not build character but it reveals character."
